David is close to sitting up! He loves to be propped up - we call this the tripod pose. He also loves to laugh at things with faces, especially if they move, like this movable caterpillar.
"Baby" David will be 3 in September 2013, and Baby Allison was born on June 24th, 2013! We are excited to be a family of 4!

Snow!
We got a late Christmas present with 6 inches of snow on the 26th! It was a really pretty fluffy snow, and everything was covered. We took David out in it, and he liked it. He even made a snow angel or two! This was David's third snow, and it's not even January yet - although this was the first "big" one!

Christmas Day!
We had fun on Christmas Day at the Allen household! Took a Christmas walk and watched parts of Christmas Vacation and A Christmas Story. Played with David on his mat. Had good roast beef, salad, mac, potatoes, apples, and pumpkin custard. Opened gifts and got nice things - David got a dog outfit, johnny jump up, hat, teether toys, seahorse toy, flash cards, and more! We got matching red tailgate jackets, sweaters, first Christmas ornament, stroller muff, and Jake got fishing rod, net, and supplies. Snow started falling that evening!

Christmas Eve!
We spent Christmas Eve at the Morgans and had a great time! We had dinner with spicy shrimp, rice, green beans, and chocolate pudding and German beer and wine. David got a lot of really nice gifts - a gator wagon, a pull wagon, a gator pull toy, a train outfit, and more. We had fun opening gifts and Jake and I got some really nice things - shirts, china, kitchen items, electric toothbrush, and Jake got a lot of fishing items, sunglasses, and a porta potty for the boat! We also looked at some old slides of Jake as a baby!

Christmas Is Coming!
We are excited about David's first Christmas! We got the tree up and hung the stockings. We have the lighted reindeer outside and the lights in our windows. We posed for some Christmas pictures, which were more difficult than we anticipated to get everyone looking good! David loves looking at the Christmas tree lights and decorations. He likes to grab at the ornaments with bells on them.

First Cold, Snowy Weekend
We are learning how to use our new camera and have been taking some test shots to practice. David loves to babble now - he likes to say "goo" and "gloo" and make a sound that sounds like he's rolling his tongue! He drools more and blows a lot of bubbles, which are signs he is developing! We are on the lookout for signs of teething since that could happen anytime now (most of the time though between 4 -7 months). We repeat "mama" and "dada" to him a lot to see which he'll say first! He likes to have us walk him around the house and look at things. He is very alert and looks around, and he grabs his little arm around our shoulder for support - its really cute! We got our Christmas tree up this weekend and the rest of the decorations (reindeer outside, lights in windows, stockings, etc). Pics to come! Snow pics are also below!

David's first snow!
We got the first snow of the season on Dec. 4, which is early for Raleigh! The snow fell in big, wet flakes and was pretty to look at for most of the day. We had about an inch. Most of it melted overnight and early the next day. David liked seeing the snowflakes fall from the warmth of his stroller and blanket!
