Overdue!

Officially overdue!

Nursery pics!

Here are some updated pictures of the nursery! We still have a few things to hang on the walls, but hopefully we'll get those up very soon. We love the train themed nursery and like how the colors turned out! There are unique touches - the 60 year old train that runs along the ceiling of the nursery, the modern photos of trains around Raleigh that Anna took, the colorful circus train pillow on the changing table that my mom made for my nursery, and many more!

Week 40 - Happy Due Date!

The due date is here! And baby is not! :) He will come when he's ready though. Dr. set induction date for Sept. 2 if he isn't here before then. I took this picture today on the due date (put on my same outfit for the pic even though I stopped working on Mon.). Still feeling good and enjoying the last few days of the pregnancy!

Still waiting!

Babywatch 2010 continues! 3 days until the due date! Will Tuesday's full moon bring baby, or is it just an old wives' tale?!

I like this description of the August moon from today's N&O:

America's natives and the early settlers knew the last full moon of summer, tinted with the sultry, smoky haze of August, as the time of the red moon.

The full moon of August is nature's notice that a busy summer will soon be drawing to a close, a signal that our world is inexorably tilting into another season. Late August days suggest fulfillment, a ripening world where the sunflower nods in golden bloom and wild scuppernong grapes, full and sweet, hang heavy, waiting to be picked. Pecans are near full ripeness. In the fields, squash and pumpkins await harvest.

This is a season of sunflowers and school buses. Leaves hang limp under a still-sweltering sun, and in the early evenings contented swallows sweep the skies.

Tonight as the sun drops beyond the western horizon, low in the eastern sky the moon will arise and reveal (weather permitting) its incomparable beauty - much like the moonflower, another lovely light of a summer evening.

Week 39

1 week until the due date! I'm still feeling pretty good and am trying to rest up and get ready for baby. We got the mobile for our nursery and ordered a train collage and print that are on the way. Dr. thinks it could still be awhile before I deliver though. Baby should be here by Labor Day weekend!

Week 38

2 more weeks to go (or more!!) Baby is apparently pretty happy in there and hasn't shown any signs he is ready to come out yet! The dr. thinks it will be awhile still - probably near or after the due date. So the waiting game begins! Of course you never know though, so we are ready. The car seat is installed, the nursery is ready, the supplies are ready. So we will see what happens! He is considered full term now so any time he wants to come would be fine.
I am feeling pretty well! It figures this would be one of the hottest summers on record though! My reward will be a long maternity leave with baby during the fall - one of the nicest times of the year :)

Anniversary

We celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary on Saturday August 7th! We went to dinner at Bella Monica, a local Italian place near us. It was great, and they sprinkled little hearts on the table and gave us a free cannoli dessert. We enjoyed our last anniversary before baby arrives!

Week 37

3 more weeks! It is hard to believe baby is due this month. Things are still going well, and I am trying to take it easy and finish up everything that needs to be done before the baby arrives! Baby is still moving around, although he is doing more "shifting" and "kicking" in place since he doesn't have much room left!
