Umstead and bouncer

Sunday was a high of about 70 so we took the opportunity to walk the trails at Umstead Park in Raleigh. David also did some bouncing and reaching for toys in his babybjorn babysitter bouncer seat.

Bumbo time

David likes sitting in his bumbo seat with us at the kitchen table. He likes to hit his toys against the tray to make as much noise as possible. David will probably be ready for solid foods soon! He is very interested in food and always eyes what we are eating. We gave him a small taste of rice cereal, but he wasn't a huge fan.

Playtime

David loves playing in his jumper, smiling at his donkey toy, laying on his tummy, and of course snoozing.

He's a "sitter"!

Our little David is now sitting up on his own! He gradually started doing it around 4.5 months and now can do it for pretty much as long as he wants! He loves sitting up and looking at the kitties and all his toys.

David attempting the johnny jump up

This was one of David's first attempts in the doorway jumper. He didn't quite have the hang of it himself yet, but he liked when we would gently bounce or swing him!

Happy David video

I finally figured out how to put videos on here! Look out because we take a bunch :) Here is David at about 4.5 months, 20 weeks old.

Bumpin and Jumpin

David is really starting to enjoy jumping and swinging in his johnny jump up and bumper jumper! He can't quite get the hang of jumping himself yet, but loves when we gently swing or bounce him in it. He laughs and smiles a lot!

Here is David in his first attempt in the jump - up. He had to taste it and try it out. Here he is in one of his teddy bear towels after his bath.

4 months old!

David is 4 months old! He is really growing fast and wants to get into everything! He rolls from stomach to back and is working on getting from back to front, but isn't quite there yet. He pull on the rings on the octopus mat to try to help him. He also wants to sit up on his own. He can sit up on his own for a few seconds if we prop him. He'll get this soon! He is grabbing at everything - our hands, toys, his Sophie giraffe, Phil the blue bunny, and chew toys. He likes looking at animal faces on toys, and the cats and dogs. Everything goes in the mouth of course! He loves watching his train go around the top of the room and squeals when it comes into view. He likes sitting and swinging in his johnny jump up (he likes when we swing or bounce it for him, he hasn't quite got the bouncing on his own part down yet). He still loves bath time and splashes and kicks the water out with his feet. He is babbling a lot, but not putting consonant or word sounds together yet. He likes to blow bubbles still, and "yell" when he wants attention. He loves to laugh, likes to be lifted in the air for airplane, likes peekaboo, and boo. He's still eating a lot, but it's hard to get him to concentrate sometimes with all the distractions!

David's Baptism

David was baptized at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Raleigh on 1/2/11. Bob Inskeep (who married Jake and I) did the honors. David was adorable as always, and was cute and smiley throughout. He seemed to like getting the water splashed on him and enjoyed his trip down the aisle while everybody sang Jesus Loves Me. He wore a cute blue train outfit from the Morgans. Everybody enjoyed seeing David and playing with him afterwards. We ate lasagna, salad, garlic knots, and chocolate/peanut butter ice cream cake over at my parents house. David got a special gold pocket watch from his great-grandfather that belonged to his father. We enjoyed a great day celebrating!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year 2011! We celebrated David's first New Year's Eve by going downtown during the day and visiting the acorn and seeing all the sites for kids, such as the activities in the Museum of Natural History, and walking outside along the mall. It was a pretty nice day, and we also met with minister Bob Inskeep about David's baptism. We ate dinner at David's Noodles on Hillsborough St. then went home and watched the ball drop (but David was asleep!). On New Year's Day we took David to his first State basketball game, which State won in a blowout win. Happy New Year!
