Week 36

Down to the home stretch with 4 weeks to go! We are putting the finishing touches on the nursery and got the train rug this week. I had a shower with law school friends and a lunch shower with work friends! I went to the Paramore concert downtown with my sister and mom and survived the heat! Jake and I visited pediatricians' offices to pick out a doctor and completed the pre-registration process at Rex. We are really excited, and it definitely feels like we are getting close now!

Williams Mullen shower

I had a great shower thrown by my co-workers from Williams Mullen! We went to lunch at Busy Bee and had a very tasty cake from Square Rabbit (we all joked about the pink letters!) I love my gifts and can't wait to try out the Exersaucer and toys with Baby Morgan! I am lucky to work with such a great group!

Law Girls Shower

I had a great time at the Law Girls shower attended by my wonderful friends from Campbell Law '05 (and honorary family members!) We had a great brunch and also ate cute cookies shaped like strollers and bottles and decorated with the letter "M." We played a baby Scattergories (which mom won) and played with the three babies who came with their mamas! I had so much fun and Baby Morgan will enjoy all the gifts and clothes! Thanks to Ashley and Jessica for hosting!

Paramore concert at Raleigh Amphitheatre

I went to the Paramore concert with my mom and sister at the Raleigh Amphitheatre downtown! It was a nice venue, although it was about 100 degrees that day! Luckily we had water and plenty of drinks, and I had a nice aisle seat with a seated view and a breeze :)

Week 35

Today marks 35/35 - 35 weeks pregnant and 35 days to go!! Can't believe we have just 5 weeks left until the due date. This past week has been busy. We had our babycare classes at Rex Hospital this week, where we will deliver. We took a breastfeeding class, a birthing/relaxation techniques class, and a babycare basics class. We also took a tour of the nursery and delivery wing. Jake participated in everything and was great! We are still working to finish up the nursery - we got our changing table and set it up, and got all the clothes put on hangers and organized. We organized all the books for the baby with "Morgan library" tags! Things are really starting to come together!

Very Hungry Caterpillar Shower!

I had so much fun at my baby shower in Raleigh hosted by my sister Kimberly Richards, my sister-in-law Anna Morgan, and two great friends Shaunis Mercer and Erin Harden! The theme was a Very Hungry Caterpillar, based on the award-winning childrens' classic book. Guests brought books and signed nameplates to put in them for the "Morgan library!" There were also themed signs, napkins, favors, and a cute (and yummy) cake. We had great food and pretty flowers, and some fun games including a word scramble, baby item memorization game, and baby bingo! Baby Morgan got a lot of nice gifts! I had a great time and am lucky to have such great family and friends!

Happy 4th of July!

We had a great time 4th of July weekend at N. Myrtle with my family! We hung out on the beach (under tents), swam, walked, ate, and got ice cream. Buddy enjoyed coming out to the beach after 5pm and swimming in the water. 4th of July evening at N. Myrtle is always packed and crazy! The highlight is watching all the people on the beach set off their own fireworks - it gets pretty crazy! People near us had some good ones this year.
