Memorial Day weekend

We went to Holden for Memorial Day weekend and had a great weekend of nice weather! We went out to the beach, and David played in the sand and in the edge of the water. He played with his sand buckets and a watering can. David lost a watering can to a wave and kept saying "uh oh dropped watering can." We took Dada's boat out and parked it in the inlet; the water was calm there and David had a good time playing. Dada caught a 20 pound cobia so he was happy. On the way home, David got to ride a turtle!

Fun with Play-Doh

David likes play-doh and likes making necklaces, "nakes" (snakes), and balls. He also likes to "mush it."

Pullen Park with First Baptist Preschool

David's preschool class had an end of the year party at Pullen Park. David rode the carousel, got a truck tattoo, and road the boats and choo choo with Maya, his favorite classmate!

Our Evening Walks

Almost every evening we take a walk around our neighborhood and the neighborhood beside us. David likes to walk a lot of the route himself. There are a lot of fun things to see and do on the walk. David first looks out for the "monster truck" which is a 4runner on big wheels. Then he strolls down the hill and looks out for the "tunnel" that goes under one of the streets. David and dada have to check out whats in it. David also sometimes gets a "baby apple" from the tree near the tunnel. Its then on to pass by the neighbor's house who has the "choo choo tracks" (a type of small fence) and the round and square stepping stones to step on, plus a wall to balance on and a basketball goal to look at. David likes to count his numbers up to 10 when he balances on the wall and steps on the stepping stones. It's then up the sidewalk to the neighbor's house with the swingset in the front yard on the street for everyone to use! David has to try a swing. We usually see other neighborhood kids around here too. Then it's up the hill where we see the friendly neighborhood "kitty" and a "tractor trailer truck" engine! After that, we head back towards home and usually see the "green jeep" on the way home. It's a fun time!

To Winston for K's Graduation

Kimberly graduated from Wake Forest law school! We went to Winston for the hooding, and David stayed at Mamaw's house with Nonnie. We enjoyed K's hooding - congrats Aunt K!! After the hooding we went to the Forsyth Country Club for a reception and then back to Mamaw's house, where David had been busy playing with a tractor, golf cart and Johnny's tractor trailer truck.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

We went to a Durham Bulls game with Ashley and HJ and Henry. David and Henry had a good time at the game. David was excited about going - he held his baseball in the car the whole way and kept talking about "baseball." David and Henry played with their trucks, watched some of the game, ate snacks, and played in the kids play area. It was a fun outing!

Got to Be NC Festival

We went to the Got to Be NC festival at the NC State Fairgrounds! It's always a lot of fun. It's like a mini state fair without all the crowds. David saw baby goats and a deer, he rode a toddler train ride with mama and a jeep ride, he looked at all the tractors on display and watched the tractor display, he saw a couple pickup truck monster trucks on display, he played near the fountain, and he went to the all you can eat bbq and ate some hushpuppies.

Happy Mother's Day!

I had a great second Mother's Day! We played in the yard and went to the Plants Delights Gardens, then went to dinner at Nana and Papa's house. David is speaking in sentences and is getting very conversational! He loves talking about trucks, and says Mama come back, Mama where are you, I see it, I found it, David paints on floor (while looking at me mischieviously) and knows all about all kinds of trucks and vehicles. He knows his ABCs, he knows numbers up to 10, he sings songs like Baa Baa Black Sheep, Twinkle Twinkle, BINGO, and more.

David and Whit go to Pullen Park

David and Whit had a great time at Pullen Park! They rode the boats and the train and chased each other around the caboose. They also played with trucks in the sandbox.

I Love to Rock!

David still loves to rock on his rocking cow. Here he is being silly.

Gravedigger

One of David's favorite monster trucks is Gravedigger.  He loves to watch Gravedigger videos and knows how to say Gravedigger is b-b-b-b bad and Bad to the Bone.

Happy Birthday Dada

David learned to say Happy Birthday a couple weeks ago when his friend Maya had a birthday.  He loves saying Happy Birthday Dada.  He enjoyed a cupcake too.

Fun times

We have a lot of fun playing in our neighborhood. Here David is with Ellis mowing a neighbor's yard that needs mowing. We also went to Marbles, and David's favorite as usual was the train tables. He also liked the basketball goals, dance floor, and the dropping balls. \

Park time

David loves going to parks. He likes to play in the sandboxes and climb on the slides. He was also my voting buddy at Shelly Lake, then we went to the park afterwards.

Strawberry Time!

We went to pick strawberries, and David had a great time. He did more eating than picking :) He liked to fill up his bucket and dump it out. Strawberries are one of his favorite foods, so he enjoyed tasting them. He liked the airplanes that kept going by overhead, and he liked the tractor there.
