Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! We went to the State game in the afternoon and watched State beat Western Carolina. Then we headed downtown for some of the daytime First Night activities. We walked around and went in the State Capitol building where David looked at the model train. We saw the Christmas trees, the acorn, and the ferris wheel on Fayetteville St. Then we went home and watched the ball drop.

Cousin Salem comes to visit!

Jake's cousin Morgan, his wife Christina, and their son Salem (16 months, about 3 weeks older than David) came to visit and spend the night with us after Christmas! We all had a great time playing! It was so cute to see the boys play together. They are close in age, and they liked playing with the same toys - the choo choo trains, the push toys, the ride-on train, the piano, and the slide! And they both LOVE reading books! We had such a good time and were so glad they could come visit!

Playing with toys

David had been enjoying all the toys Santa brought him! He loves playing with his choo choos and cars. He also loves stealing his favorite ornaments off the Christmas tree and will bring you a choo choo or bear or boat or bike if you ask him to.

Merry Christmas morning!

David must have been a good little boy this year because Santa came to see him and left him a lot of fun toys! His big gift from Santa was a train table - he loves playing with his choo choos. He also got a monster truck, some Matchbox cars in his stocking, clothes, bath towels, and other fun surprises. He liked opening his gifts. We made a train cake and decorated it, which was fun. We also took a Christmas walk and looked at lights and decorations. David keeps pulling ornaments off the tree and bringing them to us! Especially the choo choos, the bike ("bi"), the picture of himself, and the dog ornaments. He played a lot with his train table! Even Chipper approves! Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas Morgan Family!

We had fun celebrating Christmas Eve at the Morgans's house. We started off the afternoon with oysters roasted by Anna, which were great! We enjoyed some bloody mary's and beer, and then opened gifts. David had fun opening his gifts! He got train sets, cars, books, clothes, a homemade hat that matches mommy's, and a tricycle with trailer that Mark made for when he's a little bigger! David had a lot of fun playing with his toys (and Jennifer and Jake did too!). We had shrimp and grits for dinner, with salad, and peanut butter balls for dessert. It was very good. The rest of us got a lot of nice gifts also - clothes, kitchenware, and more. It was a great night!

Merry Christmas Allen Family!

Our Christmas celebration began with a visit from K and Mike to see some of David's trains on the pool table. (David was getting most of his trains and his new train table on Christmas morning, but he happily obliged in showing off some of his accessories that we'd already set up!) We went over to my parents later that afternoon and played some basketball outside. David likes the deer or "dee." We also played inside and played some horse on David's goal, and looked at some books. We had some great beef tenderloin for dinner, sides, pie, and beer, and sausage balls! We had a lot of fun opening gifts too! David got a train set, basketball goal, balls, books, toy phone, and clothes. He had a lot of fun playing with his toys! The rest of us got very nice gifts also, clothes, jewelry, ladder, and more. We had a lot of fun!
