Baby #2 is a ... GIRL!!

Baby #2 is a girl!!! We are very excited! We would have been very happy with either a boy or a girl, and we can't wait for David to have a little sister! She was moving around a lot during the ultrasound, but we were lucky enough to get some good pictures. Everything looks great. She is measuring 4 days ahead of schedule right now, which is normal. This baby likes to roll a lot! David understands there is a baby in mama's tummy, and he thinks it is playing with little tiny baby monster trucks in there! It's cute. He has seen the pictures and seems to understand he is getting a sister.

Baby #2!

We are excited that we are expecting Baby #2 on June 20th, 2013! The pregnancy is going very well. I have been tired and had some morning sickness early on, but overall everything has been great!  I am getting bigger a lot faster than the first time around!  David is excited and can't wait to be a big brother. He talks to the baby in mama's tummy and touches it. He says he wants to see it and asks if it is playing with trucks in there. He gets excited when he thinks about the baby playing with little tiny monster trucks!  Below are some of the ultrasound pictures (these are cell phone pictures I took of the printed images, so not the best quality):

First ultrasound pictures at about 9 weeks:

Second ultrasound pictures at about 11 weeks:

Third ultrasound pictures at about 14 weeks:

Snow day

It was supposed to be "Snow-mageddon" 2013, but all we got was an icy dusting! David made the best of it and tried out his trucks in the snow. He then decided to play in the sandbox instead! This has been a crazy weather week, where we saw 75 degrees last weekend and wore shorts and grilled hot dogs and ate watermelon, then saw 32 degrees and snow later in the week and ate grilled cheese and tomato soup!

Arboretum on a "summer" day in January

We had a 75 degree day in January and took advantage of the nice weather to head out to the Arboretum. David remembered it from his birthday, and we had fun exploring. He liked picking the dandelions and playing with his trucks in the puddles. He also had fun racing with mama and dada on the trails like Lightning McQueen.

Trucks and more trucks

We have tons of trucks at our house! Here are some of the trucks. David likes to arrange them, make roads, tow them, and anything else you can do with trucks.

Marbles

We are having fun visiting Marbles with our annual membership pass! We saw Stormy from the Carolina Hurricanes, saw the new Canes training exhibit, played with the paints, made crafts by sticking buttons and ribbons on a tube, played with sailboats, and more.

Museum of Life and Science in Durham

We had a great time at this museum. We saw the seasonal holiday train exhibit, where there are model trains set up inside the museum within scenery to look like NC. There were even even Thomas and Percy model trains. There is a very large indoor museum, plus huge outdoor exhibits. David's favorites were the train ride outside, the dinosaur trail and the dinos you could climb on, the dino dig, the Into the Mist exhibit with all the grass hills, grasshopper jumping and tunnels, the seed pods that fell from a big crane, and the remote control sailboats. The animals were mostly inside or hiding so David couldn't see those very well. We had fun!
